Systemic Identities

This series was worked in a realistic way and with its own language, which the art critic Hernán Rodríguez Castelo designated as neo-expressionist of social criticism and denunciation (Rodríguez Castelo Hernán, 2006. Antonio Romoleroux. New critical dictionary of Ecuadorian visual artists of the 20th century, pp. 568-570).
Social injustice, poverty, exploitation, discrimination, corruption, violence, had a profound impact on me and generated a need to express my feelings about this reality through contemporary art. The confirmation of the suffering that this reality produces in the human psyche motivated me to capture this social reality and its psychological effects on human beings such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, etc., which can reach extremes of suffering that lead to extreme situations such as suicide.
